Is Speech Recognition Software Right For You?

Speech recognition software is becoming increasingly popular among college students and business minded people alike. The reason it is becoming so popular is because you are able to speak and the speech recognition software will type it out for you with great accuracy.

When it first came out the accuracy was incredibly poor and it took more time to use it then it would take to just type your work out.

Speech recognition programs have come a long way since then. Some of the better programs even have an accuracy rate of ninety nine percent and enables you to switch between typing and talking effortlessly.

One of the best things about speech recognition software is that you can cut your typing time down by 70 percent. This is great for college kids or if you have to type a lot. It will give you much more free time to do other things.

When you buy a speech recognition software you are going to have to train it to recognize your voice and how you pronounce your words. You do this by reading short passages that are preset in the software.

You only have to do one training session before you start using the program but the more you do the more accurate the software will be. If you don’t mind a few mistakes at first then you can just do one because as you use the software it will become more accustomed to how you speak and become more accurate.

Another aspect that can affect the accuracy of the software is the noise level around you. Some background noise won’t affect the speech recognition software to much but if someone comes up to you talking, like a child, then more times then not what they are saying is going to be typed.

So if you tend to work from home or if kids are a major part of your daily routine then you might be better off just typing.
